I have been a career banker for the past 4 decades, with banks in India, Gulf Region and the UK. Until, 2019 I was CEO of a small sized bank in Mumbai. Since then, I have been helping banks to transform themselves, through my consultancy firm www.bankonus.in and also training professional bankers and students, through my training & mentoring institution - www.schoolofbanking.in During my career, I have gained expertise in Retail Banking as well as NRI business verticals. I was in the GCC Region for many years, for the development of NRI & Remittance in UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait & Qatar. I assisted in setting up an online remittance channel for the Indian diaspora in the US, UK and Canada. I also have in-depth knowledge of the digital banking & payment landscape. I held fit and proper credentials both in India and the UK. I have motivated hundreds of junior and middle level officers at various banks to create talent pool of bankers well versed in Business Development, Sales, Customer Service, Compliance, Audit, Inspection, Wealth Management, NRI relationship, Operations, SME lending, Assessment of loan proposals, Documentation, Foreign Exchange, Digital Banking & Fee Income products. During my career, I have worked with banks such as United Bank of India, HSBC, Standard Chartered in the GCC region, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, IDBI Bank. I have helped shadow banks by improving their internal processes, products and people. I have been rated high by the management of these banks. I am a graduate in Commerce from University of Mumbai & Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). I have proficiency in English, Tamil, Hindi, Marathi and working knowledge of Gujarathi.
